Miami has a reputation for being one of the liveliest, most beautiful beach cities in the world. While it gets a rap for being rowdy and bougie, Miami has something for every kind of sand-and-sun-loving traveler. Where South Beach is known for its art deco architecture and vibrant nightlife, Wynwood is more laid-back with its ultra-hip breweries, galleries, and street art. Meanwhile, Coconut Grove is a high-end hotspot rooted in wellness and boho vibes, and Coral Gables, just outside the city, is beloved for its upscale shopping and dining, and overall European-inspired, Mediterranean feel. Not sure where to start your planning? Let our dog-friendly guide to Miami lead the way.

Cafes and Eateries

Fuel your day with a bite and bev from one of the dog-friendly Miami restaurants below.

With dozens of places to set foot in, you can expect to want to spend at least a few hours here.

Parks and Trails

Whether your pup likes to stay land-bound or splashing through the waves, the Miami parks and beaches below provide plenty of space to get their energy out.

Haulover Park Bark Park

10800 Collins Avenue

Florida has many dog-friendly beaches, but few allow for off-leash play. Haulover Park Bark Park is one of the handful that do. Take your pup and let them run, romp, and splash their hearts out on the beach, as well as at the on-side fenced dog runs, where there are separate areas for large and small dogs.

West Kendall District Park

11255 SW 157 Avenue

This 6.5-acre dog park features open grassy fields with separate sections for large and small dogs, as well as fountains, water sprays, and obstacles to really ramp up the fun.

Amelia Earhart Park

401 East 65 Street

The Amelia Earhart Dog Park is another large grassy retreat for dogs of all sizes. The fenced park, located on the outskirts of Miami, has separate runs for large and small dogs, as well as waste receptacles, benches, and obstacles for convenience.

North Beach Bark Beach

Collins Avenue and 81 Street

North Beach Bark Beach is another off-leash area of beach in Miami. In addition to being a great place to take your pup so they can run and swim free, North Beach Bark Beach also has restrooms and fountains, making it extra convenient for humans, too.

@bayfrontparkmia

Bayfront Park is a spacious, well-maintained green space overlooking Biscayne Bay. Dogs are allowed to stroll the full grounds on leash, or they can go off leash at the fenced dog park.

Hobie Island Beach

Old, Rickenbacker Cswy,

Hobie Island Beach is another dog-friendly option overlooking Biscayne Bay. Only, here, dogs can go off leash to splash in the calm, shallow waters. Obviously, it’s important to always keep a close eye on them—both to protect them from wildlife and windsurfers, of which there are many at Hobie Island Beach.
