Jason and Kylie Kelce’s Beloved Family Dog, Baloo, Has Passed Away

Kylie shared a touching tribute to the adored Irish Wolfhound.

Jason Kelce, a podcaster and former center for the Philadelphia Eagles, and his wife Kylie, a podcaster and media personality, have amassed millions of fans for sharing their lives with the public. Listeners of both New Heights — the podcast Jason hosts with his brother, Travis, the Kansas City Chiefs’ tight end and, you already know this, but the guy dating Taylor Swift — and Not Gonna Lie — Kylie's star-studded and soul-baring podcast — know that the couple are lifelong dog-lovers. Yesterday, Kylie shared the heartbreaking news that their family dog, Baloo, has passed away.

On Instagram, Kylie posted a heartfelt tribute to the seven-year-old Irish Wolfhound. “We were lucky enough to have 7 years with the goofiest, sweetest, most lovable, and tolerant dog I’ve ever met,” she wrote. “He wanted nothing more than carbs and pets. He was a simple guy, held together by bubble gum and paper clips.”

The Kelces adopted Baloo in April of 2018. He was the second Irish Wolfhound to join their family — the other, Winnie, was adopted in 2017 and passed away in March of 2024. Kylie has loved Irish Wolfhounds since she was young; in high school, she had a desktop folder labeled “Gods gift to earth” that was full of photos of the breed.

Fans of New Heights may might remember an adorable moment when the massive Baloo raced across the screen during a conversation between Jason and Travis, causing Travis to exclaim, “Goddamn, what the f— is that?” before recognizing Baloo and encouraging Jason to give him a pat. In response to the heartbreaking news, Travis commented a pair of crying emojis; their mother, Donna, also shared her condolences.

Kylie shared that Winnie and Baloo’s friendship brought comfort to her daughter, Ellie, when she learned of Baloo’s passing. “When I told the girls that Baloo was going to leave us, Ellie asked where he was going,” Kylie wrote. “I told her that he was going to heaven and without skipping a beat she replied, ‘Oh! He’ll get to be with Winnie again! They’ll be so happy to see each other!’”
