The £5 Tick Tool Every UK Dog Parent Needs Right Now
Spring has arrived. So have the ticks
As someone who has shared a home with a dog for the best part of 30 years, I’ve walked through enough overgrown paths and untrimmed verges with them to know: tick season waits for no one.
It’s officially spring, and the long grass in the local park is already doing its thing. The wet start to the year has brought a growth spurt that the council mowers haven’t quite kept up with yet, and the result is exactly the kind of long, damp grass that ticks love.
According to ESCCAP UK & Irelandopens in new tab (that’s the European Scientific Council of Companion Animal Parasites to the uninitiated), the UK typically sees ticks increase between March and June. But with climate change extending that window further each year, we’re already heading straight into peak exposure time.
