Iris Apfelopens in a new tab needs no introduction. The 100-years-young style icon and self-appointed “geriatric starlet” is proof that age is just a number. Her sartorial journey started in the ’50s; no less than nine presidents tapped her to design the interior of the White House; she’s the subject of a Metropolitan Museum of Art exhibition; and the star of an Emmy-nominated documentary. Oh, and she became a cover girl at 90 — long overdue if we say so ourselves.
But it’s Apfel’s personal style that never ceases to amaze and inspire: the oversized glasses, theatrical baubles, fearless fashion choices. So it’s no surprise that everyone and their dogs are taking part in her ongoing #irisyourcloset challenge. Feeling inspired?
