The Reality TV Stars Proving Puppy Love Is Blind
Find someone who looks at you the way your dog does, right?
Love is Blind, Netflix’s hit dating reality show that asks participants to fall in love sight unseen, just wrapped its second season with a red-hot reunion special. As in the first season, participants in the “experiment” left nothing unsaid (looking at you, Shake “Love Is Blurry” Chatterjee). Some couples made it, some couples didn’t, but it was clear that this round of participants are all hopeless romantics at heart. So it makes sense that many of the participants are also proud pet parents, who learned or are learning the basics of unconditional love from their furry friends. That’s why we’ve dug up the dirt on what viewers really want to know: who are the pets of Love Is Blind?
Lauren Speed, Cameron Hamilton & Sparx
Lauren and Cameron were easily the power couple of season one, staying true to one another from the pods to the altar. Three years later, the couple is still going strong and has become pet parents to Sparx, an adorably curly Airedale Terrier. Not one for the spotlight, Sparx only makes cameo appearances on the couple’s respective Instagram feeds. Thankfully, dog mom Lauren has a highlights reel dedicated to #MrSparx for the tried and true LIB fans.
Amber Pike, Matthew Barnett & Koda
In season one, Amber and Barnett were caught in a love triangle with fellow contestant Jessica Batten. These days, the couple’s third wheel comes in furry form: snow-white Wolf Dog Koda. On her very own Instagram @wolf_at_the_batteryopens in a new tab, Koda can be seen enjoying snow adventures, baseball games, and couch snuggles with dad.
Jessica Batten & Payton
Jessica caused a lot of chaos in season one — for people and pups alike. Forget leaving Mark at the altar (sorry Mark); Jessica’s greatest crime on the show was feeding wine to her adorable Golden Retriever, Payton. Luckily, Payton wasn’t hurt from the incident and seems to be thriving according to Jessica’s Instagram. However, both alcohol and grapes are extremely toxic to dogs and should never be given to them under any circumstances — even a social experiment where you fall in love with someone through a wall. We’re just glad that both Jessica and Payton have moved on and appear to be living healthy and happy lives with fiancé/dog stepdad Ben McGrath.
Mark Cuevas & Nova
These days, Jessica’s ex-fiancé Mark is on dad duty to adorable babies Ace and Axton, plus American Staffordshire Terrier Nova. Along with his fiancée Aubrey, the Cuevas crew is taking over Instagram with their adorable group Halloween costumes and matching Christmas pajamas. Mark even included Nova in his Father’s Day shout-out. Makes you wonder how great of a step-dad he could have been to Payton.
Kenny Barnes & Penni
Season one participants Kenny and Kelly didn’t end up tying the knot, but Kenny still has a lot of love to give. Together with his new fiancée Alexandra, Kenny is the proud pup parent of Penni, a tricolor Welsh Corgi. The family of three can be seen bopping around Charlotte and are proud members of the Charlotte Corgi Club.
Danielle Ruhl, Nick Thompson & Greyson
In season two of Love is Blind, Danielle and Nick ran into some trouble when Nick suggested his Goldendoodle Greyson might not get along with Danielle’s cat, Wiz. Almost a year later and the foursome are living in harmony — or at least partial civility. Greyson is quite the camera hog, making frequent appearances on both Danielle and Nick’s Instagrams.
Deepti Vempati & Pixel
Season two superstar Deepti Vempati knows that she deserves real and honest love, and she’s found a whole lot of it with adorable Bichon, Pixel. Pixel can be spotted in many of Deepti’s adventure snapshots, along with cousin Vino the Goldendoodle. Here’s hoping these curly hair cuties can find Deepti the vet they all deserve.
Abhishek ‘Shake’ Chatterjee & Bandit
Season two f-boy Shake may not believe love is blind when it comes to people, but it’s a whole different story when it comes to pets. The Chicago-based veterinarian has a soft spot for all animals — just not those of his own species. When he’s not treating the pups and cats of the Windy City, Shake is relaxing at home with his Dachshund, Bandit. And, while we think Bandit is the perfect pup, we’re surprised Shake chose a dog who couldn’t sit on his shoulders (y’know, with those little legs and all).
Mallory Zapata & Rosie
Mallory, of the Mal/Sal power couple that once was, adopted her gorgeous German Shepherd, Rosie, from a friend’s litter when she was just a puppy, and the two have been inseparable ever since. Rosie boasts some big beautiful ears and an even bigger smile; we’re sure she makes her mom happier than some gold ring ever could.
Kyle Abrams & Linus
According to Instagram, Kyle is a proud dog dad to a streetwear savvy Fox Terrier named Linus. Linus appears to be just as easy-going and fun-loving as dad — with the eye sensitivity of would-be stepmom Shaina.
